MASTER CRAFTSPERSON OF TIKULI CRAFT STATE AWARD WINNER
Profile of Artist:
Santosh Kumar is a professional trained artist, he did his Master’s in Fine Art from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. He has been practicing the Tikuli Art form since 18 years. Now Santosh is working as Fine Art Teacher at Dr.D.Y. Patil International School Patna. Santosh Kumar has also worked as Art teacher at Pidilite India Pvt. Ltd. He teaches the intricate technique of Tikuli art to his students. Santosh has trained many local rural artisans who have become independent and now they are earning their livelihood and simultaneously keeping this 800 year old, art alive in this modern world. Santosh Kumar has provided faculty support with practical demonstration in entrepreneurship – cum –skill development program on Advance Tikuli Art & Craft organized by MSME.
Santosh Kumar wishes to make the local artist self reliant so that they understand the requirement of market and start designing their own individual products through skill development.
